I hired Denis to install a sliding door and the wall for it. He's a nice guy and these complains are not personal. It was supposed to be "an easy job" that could be finished "in a morning", according to him. He said he would arrive at 8:30 but only showed up at 9:30. I didn't bother at that time since he said it would be a 4-hour work. I worked from home that day, but I couldn't work properly because I had to help him figure out how to install the door sliding system and the soft close (I agree that the instructions were... not clear, but he should know how to do it! That's why you hire a professional, isn't it?). He left the wall panels to be installed the next day, when my wife stayed at home. I thought that part would be ok, because the main problem was the door, but I couldn't be more wrong. He left major and uneven gaps and steps between the wall panels and the door frame. How am I supposed to install the door linings with these steps? When I complained, he said to fix everything with wall putty (spackel). First, this would require tons of putty, and second, it would not fix the problem, but only make it visually worse. He refused to come and fix the problems and offered a discount instead, which I was forced to take. I guess you get what you pay for, but I definitely don't recommend his services. He said that he has some carpenters that work for him, so maybe these guys can do a better job, but don't let him do the job. Again, this is not personal, but he has no attention to details and just wanted to get rid of the extra work of installing shims to level the wall and the frame. I'll have to hire someone else or fix it myself. As a side note, he didn't provide me with an invoice and left a mess in my bathroom.
