The overall experience was good but it could have been better had the real estate company would have taken more responsibility for things instead of telling us where all things we can get. We are new to this country and have absolutely no idea of how things work.
For example, we have repeatedly asked them to share how to get internet connection, where to contact for electricity, water and other connections that are needed before moving to the house. We have not been given any one-on-one guidance on that. We had to reach out to Eon(electricity), viasat(internet) and other relevant connections but with a lot of discomfort. The discomfort because first we don’t understand the language on their websites and to talk to them was difficult as well as they don’t speak understandable English. These are some of the things can have been better provided to us because the owner and the real estate company both know our situation.
There was one instance when our broker told us that ‘owners are more busy than us’. What is this? How do you know that a old couple with no responsibility of small kids like us and knowing each and everything of how things work in Sweden, can be more busy than us.
The real estate company can do a better job in making their customers feel comfortable. For us, all of the transactions with the broker were like we had to reach out to them and not the other way around. While they should understand that be buying this property we are there customers and they should take care of us and our problems.
Now, the good things. The broker handled some of the things really professionally. She was very supportive but of course took a long time to answer our queries but the good part is, she did.
The broker was very clear to us on everything and was very supportive on the expectations from the bank’s formalities.
Their paperwork was also really good. It could have been great had they provided all the copies in English too. They are a big company and they can have softwares to translate their online forms and documentation in English as well. But, still we felt secured that everything was discussed with us and we were heard during the signing of the contract.
