Unequal Treatment – Not Recommended
I visited Sidetrack on Friday, June 6th, with two friends, both of whom are swedish. We were expecting a relaxed evening, but the experience was disappointing due to how I was treated by the server.
While other tables were served bread and butter, we were not. The server greeted my friends warmly but largely ignored me – avoiding eye contact, giving me dismissive looks, and making me feel unwelcome.
When I ordered a beer, he only brought drinks to my friends. I reminded him more than... once, but he kept focusing on them and disregarding me. I never received the drink. When I asked for bread, he reacted with irritation and brought us stale-tasting bread, without any butter.
I only got to order food because another staff member stepped in.
Later, when my friends ordered sparkling wine, I politely asked for a separate bill, as I had only been drinking water, felt increasingly uncomfortable, and told my friends I wanted to leave. Despite my clear request, the server who had taken the drinks order ignored me and brought a single bill for the entire table.
There were only two tables occupied that evening, which made the unequal treatment even more obvious. I felt excluded throughout the evening.
As a paying guest, I expect respectful and professional service, regardless of background or language. Sadly, this was not the case. I do not recommend Sidetrack if you value being treated equally.
